1. I am a new resident, how do I set-up garbage / recycling service?: You can call the Request for Service System at (847) 223-8515 or click here to register online.

2. When is my garbage pick up day?: Please see the Garbage Route Map.

3. How often do I receive a bill for garbage service?: The garbage service is charged monthly and is included in your monthly water bill.

4. What are the current rates for my waste and recycling services?: In order to accommodate various resident service needs, there are three different garbage toter sizes for residents to select from: Standard Size / 90 Gallon Garbage Toter - $24.22 per month Medium Size / 65 Gallon Garbage Toter - $21.65 per month Small Size / 35 Gallon Garbage Toter - $18.01 per month Monthly rates include fees for recycling services, leaf vacuuming service, holiday tree pick-up and special spring yard waste pick-up week.

6. Can I put bulk items out with my regular garbage?: Village residents are allowed to place one bulk item out with their weekly pick up at no charge. For more than one item, please call Waste Management for a special pick up at (800) 796-9696. Waste Management does not pick up appliances. Certain bulk items have fees associated with them.

7. How do I arrange for a special pick up?: Please call Waste Management to arrange for a special pick up at (800) 796-9696.

8. What can I recycle?: Under the Village's contract with Waste Management, each resident is provided a green recycling toter for curbside recycling which is included in their monthly fee. Please place your recycling toter at the curb on your pick up day. There is a separate recycling truck that picks up recycling. Click here for more information.

9. What are my other recycling options?: You may bring recyclables to the Grayslake Recycling Center. Please click here for information.

10. When is leaf vacuuming?: Leaf vacuuming starts during mid October and runs through the end of November. Please click here for more information.

11. How do I exchange the size of my garbage tote?: The garbage can exchange program takes place once a year. Residents who want to take part in the program may register between January 1 and February 15, replacements take place in March. Please call the Request for Service system at (847) 223-8515 for more information.
