Police Department

Welcome to the Grayslake Police Department site.

The Grayslake Police Department has thirty one sworn officers, seven part-time officers, and three civilian employees. We are proud to be one of the few agencies in Lake County that has been accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

The Grayslake Police Department serves the Village of Grayslake through our association with several Lake County inter-agency units, including the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT), the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force, Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG), and the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS). We have two officers certified to teach the DARE (Drug Awareness and Resistance Education) program to fifth grade students in the village and two School Resource Officers assigned full time to the Grayslake Community High School District, one at each campus.

Our mission is "To make people safe and to make people feel safe." All the officers of the Grayslake Police Department are committed to working with the community to keep our Village a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

For Non-Emergency and Non-In-Progress Incidents, please call 847-223-2341. In-person visits to the Police Department are discouraged for these types of reports as customer waits can be long due to personnel being in the field.
