The Village came to an agreement with Waste Management to initiate the Green Package curbside composting program in 2019. The program includes a dedicated 35-gallon cart for organics in addition to residents’ regular trash and recycling carts. The program consists of collections made every week from April 1 – November 30 and every other week from December 1 – March 31, and the cost of the program will be $12.50 per month, billed in addition to residents’ regular trash and recycling bill.
Pickups during the winter months (December 1 - March 31) will be on Tuesdays, and from April 1 - November 30 pickups will be on the same day as residents’ regular garbage pickup day.

The Green Package switches to a winter service schedule annually between December 1 - March 31. During this winter service, all organics carts are picked up on Tuesdays only (unless otherwise determined). Your service schedule is determined by your address, and the two routes are split up by IL Route 83. The pickup schedule is detailed below:
