Overview

The duties of the Commission are to hire new Police Officers, administer testing for the establishment of an eligibility list for hiring and promotion of Officers to the Sergeant position, and the hearing of disciplinary cases. The members of the Police Commission are appointed to 3-year terms by the Mayor, with consent of the Board of Trustees. The Commission members elect a chairman to serve during the Village's fiscal year.
