Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA)

The Grayslake Police Department has been an Accredited agency since 2001. Accreditation is awarded to police agencies that voluntarily demonstrate their commitment to excellence in law enforcement and continually improve their organization through self-evaluation. 

Accredited agencies are required to continually meet over 400 standards set forth by major law enforcement associations, leading educational and training institutions, government agencies, and law enforcement executives internationally; all of which acknowledge CALEA's standards as the benchmark for today's law enforcement agency.
